30 minWhen you slice into these chocolate logs and see the rainbow of colored marshmallows peeking through the dark chocolate, you’ll understand exactly where the name comes from. They look just like stained glass windows.
This is one of those no-bake treats that’s been passed around church cookbooks and holiday cookie exchanges for decades. Melt chocolate chips with butter, fold in colored mini marshmallows and chopped nuts, shape into logs, and chill. That’s the whole thing.
Slice them into rounds and watch people’s eyes light up. They’re half candy, half confection, and entirely irresistible.
Kitchen Tips
- Let the melted chocolate cool for a few minutes before adding the marshmallows. If it’s too hot, the marshmallows will melt and you’ll lose those colorful windows.
- Roll the logs in the chopped nuts while the outside is still sticky so they really press in and stay put.
- Chill for a full 2 to 3 hours before slicing. A sharp knife dipped in hot water gives you the cleanest rounds.
