| 6 1/2 | ounces | salmon, canned | |
| 2 | cups | soda crackers | coarsely crushed |
| 14 | ounces | creamed corn | |
| 1 | cup | cheddar cheese | grated |
| 1/4 | cup | milk | |
| 1/4 | cup | green bell pepper | cubed |
| 1 | each | egg | |
| 1/8 | teaspoon | black pepper | |
| 1 | teaspoon | butter | |
| 2 | tablespoons | almonds | thinly sliced |
Drain salmon in large bowl.
Remove skin and bones.
Flake.
Crush soda crackers with rolling pin coarsely.
Add to salmon, reserving 2 Tbsp.
Add corn, cheese, milk, green pepper and pepper.
Mix.
Beat egg lightly with fork in small bowl and add to salmon-corn mixture.
Mix well.
Put in greased 6 cup casserole dish with lid.
Smooth top.
Top with reserved crushed soda crackers and dot with butter.
Sprinkle top with thin sliced almonds.
Bake covered 30 minutes at 350 degrees F.
Uncover for last 5 minutes.

Great to find this German recipe here! Well, what I did wrong is to boil them too violently, as my first test-dumpling was kind of dry inside. So in that case I would recomment to rather boil them 5 minutes longer but not more violently. They kind of fall apart when boiled too violently. For dumpling-newbies I would recommend to take the time and prepare just one test-dumpling of the dough before strting with all of it.
