Ingredients

1/3 cup vegetable shortening
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup molasses
1 each egg
1 1/2 cups flour, all-purpose
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon mace
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ginger
1/4 teaspoon allspice
2 1/2 cups mixed candied fruit

Directions

Heat oven to 325 degrees F.

Mix shortening, sugar, molasses and egg.

Stir dry ingredients; blend into shortening mixture.

Stir in fruit.

Drop by teaspoonfuls about 1inch apart on lightly greased baking sheet.

Bake 12-15 minutes.
