Ingredients

1/4 cup butter or margarine,softened
3 ounces cream cheese softened
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar, light packed
1 each egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/3 cup flour, all-purpose
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet)
1/4 cup maraschino cherries drained, chopped
36 each cherry halves

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Cream butter,cream cheese,sugar,brown sugar,egg, and vanilla in mixer bowl until light and fluffy.

Combine flour,soda, and salt in small bowl.

Add to creamed mixture,mix well.

Stir in chocolate chips and chopped cherries.

Drop by rounded teaspoonfulls onto ungreased cookie sheet.

Top each cookie with a cherry half.

Bake for 8 minutes or just until set.

Remove immediately to wire rack to cool.
