Three liqueurs layered in a shot glass that somehow tastes like biting into a chocolate chip cookie. Swiss chocolate almond liqueur on the bottom, Baileys in the middle, and peppermint schnapps on top. The chocolate, cream, and mint blend together in one sweet, smooth sip.

Layering is the whole technique here. Pour slowly over the back of a bar spoon so each liqueur floats on the one below. The different densities keep them separated in the glass, giving you a striped look that’s half the fun.

Equal parts of each keeps the balance right. The chocolate almond base is rich, the Baileys adds creamy sweetness, and the peppermint schnapps cuts through with a cool, minty finish.

Kitchen Tips

  • Pour the heaviest liqueur first (chocolate almond), then Baileys, then schnapps. Pouring out of order mixes the layers.
  • Use the back of a small spoon held just above the surface to guide each layer in gently.
  • Chill the liqueurs beforehand. Cold liqueurs are thicker and layer more cleanly than room-temperature ones.

Variations

  • Swap peppermint schnapps for Frangelico for a chocolate-hazelnut flavor profile.
  • Use Kahlua instead of Swiss chocolate almond liqueur for a coffee-chocolate twist.
  • Double the recipe and serve in a rocks glass over ice as a sipping cocktail.
