These cookies walk the line between oatmeal and chocolate chip, giving you the best of both worlds.

Rolled oats add hearty chew while chocolate chips bring sweetness and melty pockets of chocolate.

The secret is controlling the bake time for your perfect texture.

Chef Tips

  • Use quick oats or old-fashioned oats, not instant
  • Beat butter and sugars until fluffy for lighter cookies
  • Chill the dough if it’s too soft to scoop
  • Bake 9 to 10 minutes for chewy centers with soft edges
  • Bake 12 to 13 minutes for crispy cookies
  • Cool on the pan for 1 minute before transferring

Variations

  • Use dark chocolate chips for richer flavor
  • Add dried cranberries or raisins for fruity chew
  • Swap nuts for coconut flakes for tropical twist
  • Stir in a teaspoon of cinnamon for warm spice
