Game day, movie night, Tuesday afternoon snack attack... this dip handles all of it.

American cheese spread melts down in the microwave with sauteed onion, then gets loaded up with chopped tomato, green chilies, and a dash of hot sauce.

The whole thing takes less than five minutes from bowl to mouth.

Scoop it up with tortilla chips or corn chips and try not to eat the entire batch standing at the counter.

Pro Tips

  • Stir the cheese halfway through microwaving so it melts evenly without scorching on the edges.
  • Seed and peel your tomato to keep the dip smooth. Tomato skins get tough and chewy in melted cheese.
  • Double or triple the recipe for a party. Just increase the microwave time by 30-second intervals and keep stirring.
