Call it a pizza, call it a tart, call it whatever you want. Just make sure you call people over to eat it.

Pastry dough gets rolled out onto a 16-inch pizza pan and baked until golden.

Then a rich cream cheese filling blended with eggs, sugar, vanilla, and chopped walnuts goes on top for a quick second bake.

Once it’s cool, spread on a generous layer of tart cherry pie filling and, if you’re feeling it, a cloud of whipped cream.

Slice it into wedges like a pizza and watch it vanish.

Kitchen Tips

  • Let the cream cheese layer cool completely before adding the cherry topping. Warm filling will make the pie filling slide right off.
  • Use tart cherry pie filling, not sweet. The tangy cherries balance the rich cream cheese perfectly.
  • The walnut pieces add a subtle crunch that keeps the texture interesting. Toast them first for even more flavor.
  • This slices best when thoroughly chilled, so give it at least an hour in the fridge.
