This is the kind of recipe that makes kids cheer and adults secretly go back for seconds.

Hot dogs get split open and stuffed with strips of American cheese, then layered into a casserole dish over brown sugar baked beans spiked with Dijon mustard and Worcestershire.

Crispy bacon strips tucked between the layers add smoky crunch to every bite.

Bake it in the oven for a quick weeknight dinner or toss it in the slow cooker for game day.

Either way, it comes out bubbly, smoky, and gooey in all the right places.

Kitchen Tips

  • Crisp the bacon first so it stays crunchy rather than going soggy under the beans
  • Slice the franks lengthwise but not all the way through so they hold the cheese like a little pocket
  • The slow cooker option (8 hours on low) is ideal for potlucks or tailgating. Just prep it and go
