This streamlined cheddar bread recipe uses your bread machine to create a tender, cheesy loaf with almost no hands-on work.

Egg whites add structure and a lighter texture, while powdered milk boosts the bread’s richness without adding extra liquid.

The result is a straightforward, reliable loaf that’s become many bread machine owners’ go-to recipe when they want something savory and satisfying.

Kitchen Tips

  • Room temperature ingredients mix better: Cold water and eggs can shock the yeast. Let ingredients sit at room temperature for 20 minutes before adding.
  • Weigh your flour if possible: Bread machine recipes are sensitive to flour amounts. Weighing ensures consistent results every time.
  • Don’t lift the lid while baking: Tempting as it is, opening the lid releases heat and can cause the loaf to collapse.

This recipe did not work. There was not enough liquid to blend the ingredients. The mix looked exactly the same as when I put it in the bread maker.
