| 3 | pounds | chicken | cut-up |
| 1/3 | cup | flour, all-purpose | |
| 2 | teaspoons | salt | |
| 1/3 | cup | vegetable oil | |
| 1/2 | cup | onion | diced |
| 1/2 | cup | celery | diced |
| 1/2 | cup | green bell pepper | diced |
| 1 | cup | ketchup | |
| 1 | cup | coca cola | |
| 2 | tablespoons | worcestershire sauce | |
| 1 | tablespoon | salt | |
| 1/2 | teaspoon | salt | hickory smoked |
| 1/2 | teaspoon | basil | |
| 1/2 | teaspoon | chili powder | |
| 1/8 | teaspoon | black pepper |
Rinse the chicken and pat dry.
In a bowl, mix the flour and 2 teaspoons of salt.
Coat the pieces with the flour mixture.
In a skillet, heat the oil.
Brown the chicken all sides.
Remove the browned chicken and place in a 3 quart casserole.
Discard the drippings.
In a bowl, combine the remaining ingredients, mixing well.
Spoon sauce over the chicken, making sure that all pieces are covered.
Cover casserole.
Bake in a preheated, 350 degree F oven for about 1-1/4 hours, or until chicken is fork-tender.
If desired, serve the chicken with the sauce over hot rice.
Makes 4 to 6 servings with about 3 cups of sauce.

This is a great recipe! Something different to do with hamburger, easy to make and tastes great. The biscuits actually make a really nice light crust. This one is in my favourites and will be repeated often on my dinner table!
