| 1 | package | cake mix | banana |
| 4 | ounces | pudding mix, instant | banana cream |
| 4 | large | eggs | |
| 1 | cup | bananas | mashed (about 2) |
| 1/2 | cup | water | |
| 1/3 | cup | vegetable oil | |
| 1 | cup | walnuts | chopped, toasted |
| Caramel frosting | |||
| 1/4 | cup | butter | or margarine |
| 2 | tablespoons | brown sugar, dark | |
| 1 | teaspoon | water | |
| 1 | package | frosting | vanilla layer cake |
| 1 | x | walnut halves | for garnish |
Preheat oven to 350F. Grease and flour two 9x5x3 inch loaf pans.
For cake, combine cake mix, pudding mix, eggs, mashed bananas, 1/2 cup water and oil in large bowl.
Beat at medium speed with electric mixer for 2 minutes.
Stir in chopped walnuts. Pour into pans.
Bake at 350F for 50-55 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool in pans for 15 minutes.
Loosen loaves from pans. Invert onto cooling racks.
Turn right side up.
Cool completely.
For caramel frosting, place butter, brown sugar and 1 teaspoon water in small saucepan.
Bring to a boil on medium heat; boil 1 minute, stirring constantly.
Place vanilla frosting in medium bowl. Stir in caramel mixture until thoroughly blended.
Frost sides and tops of loaves.
Garnish with walnut halves.
