Ingredients

1pound ground beef
1/2cup onion chopped
1/2cup cabbage chopped
1cup rice regular, raw
15ounce tomato sauce
6ounce tomatoe paste or 1 lb tomato puree*
2cups water
1 1/2teaspoons salt
1/2teaspoon thyme *
1each bay leaf *
2tablespoons brown sugarVideo

Directions

Brown ground beef in electric skillet. Stir to break up. Add onion, green pepper, cabbage and rice.

Stir in tomato sauce, tomato paste or puree, water and seasonings. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat.

Cover and simmer for 25 minutes until rice is tender, stirring occasionally and adding more water if necessary.
