| 1/4 | cup | vegetable shortening | |
| 1 | cup | brown sugar | |
| 1 | each | egg | |
| 1 | cup | flour, all-purpose | |
| 1 | teaspoon | baking powder | |
| 1/4 | teaspoon | salt | |
| 1/4 | cup | nut meats | |
| 1/4 | cup | bran |
Cream shortening.
Add sugar and cream well. Add egg and beat.
Add dry ingredients, nuts and bran.
Spread in shallow pan, bake about 30 minutes, at 350 F.
Cut into suqares and roll in confectioner's sugar.
