| 1 1/2 | cups | cornmeal | |
| 1/2 | cup | flour, all-purpose | |
| 1/4 | cup | brown sugar, dark | packed |
| 4 | teaspoons | baking powder | |
| 1/2 | teaspoon | salt | |
| 1 | cup | milk | |
| 1 | each | egg | beaten |
| 1/4 | cup | butter | (or 1/2 stick), melted, or margarine |
Mix together cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
Combine milk, egg, and melted butter.
Add to cornmeal mixture.
Stir to mix just until moist. Fill 12 greased muffin pans 2/3 full.
Bake in 425 degree F oven 20 minutes until muffins are golden brown.
Makes 12 muffins.

They were excellent. I cooked the crust at 400 for 15min and then every thing at 350 for 25 minutes. It turned out perfect.
