| 1/2 | cup | butter | softened |
| 1/3 | cup | sugar | granulated |
| 1/3 | cup | brown sugar | packed |
| 1 | each | egg | |
| 1 | tablespoon | water | |
| 1/2 | teaspoon | vanilla extract | |
| 1 1/4 | cups | flour, all-purpose | |
| 1/2 | teaspoon | baking soda | |
| 1/4 | teaspoon | salt | |
| 8 | ounces | chocolate chips (semi-sweet) |
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Cream together thoroughly butter and sugars, using electric mixer.
Add egg, water and vanilla and beat well.
In a separate bowl, stir together flour, soda and salt.
Blend dry ingredients into creamed mixture.
Stir chipped chocolate pieces into batter by hand so they do not get too broken up.
Drop from teaspoon 2" apart onto greased cookie sheet.
Bake for about 13 minutes.
Cool on racks.
I was looking for a fudge cookie recipe. These cookies got flat and not fudgy.

Very good recipe, I added a pinch of cinnamon for the taste of cabbage rolls. My husband liked it and that is unusual.
