| 1 | cup | vegetable shortening | |
| 1 1/2 | cups | sugar | |
| 3 | large | eggs | |
| 3 | cups | flour, all-purpose | |
| 1 | teaspoon | baking powder | |
| 1/2 | teaspoon | salt | |
| 1 1/3 | cups | mincemeat | filling |
Cream shortening.
Add sugar, and blend well. Add eggs, and beat until smooth.
Add mixed dry ingredients and then stir in mincemeat.
Blend well.
Drop by teaspoonful onto a greased cookie sheet, at least 2 inches apart.
Bake at 400 degrees F for 12 minutes or until lightly browned.

This bread is so good! Not hard to prepare, and it went great with pasta. The tomatoes were a sweet addition and complimented the chives very well.
