Frozen brandy smashes blend apricot brandy with citrus juice and simple syrup, scooped into frosty little balls. A boozy frozen treat that’s a hit at holiday parties and summer cookouts alike.

Think of these as the grown-up answer to snow cones.

You simmer a quick simple syrup, stir in frozen lemonade, orange juice, and apricot brandy, then let the freezer do the heavy lifting.

Once solid, scoop them into bite-sized balls with a melon baller and serve straight from the freezer.

They hit your tongue icy-cold, then melt into a sweet citrus-brandy rush that makes you reach for another one immediately.

Kitchen Tips

  • Let the sugar syrup cool completely before adding the brandy so you don’t cook off the alcohol
  • A melon baller dipped in warm water makes scooping much easier
  • These keep in the freezer for up to a month, so make a big batch ahead of time
  • For a lighter version, swap in peach schnapps for the apricot brandy
