80 minWhen you need to feed the whole neighborhood, this is the casserole you pull out. Six different beans, two pounds of ground beef, and a sweet-tangy sauce that ties the whole thing together.
Ketchup, condensed tomato soup, and brown sugar melt down into a sticky, smoky glaze that coats every bean. Onions and celery add crunch and freshness to balance all that richness.
It serves 25, freezes beautifully, and tastes even better reheated the next day. This is the dish that gets you asked to every block party for the rest of your life.
Chef Tips
- Drain only the green beans and wax beans. Leave the liquid in all the other cans for extra saucy flavor
- Make it a day ahead. The flavors deepen overnight in the fridge
- Freezes well for up to 3 months in an airtight container
- Add a few dashes of hot sauce or a tablespoon of mustard for extra kick
