Ground beef patties get a quick sear, then nestle into a skillet loaded with mushrooms, bell peppers, onions, and garlic simmered in spaghetti sauce.
Top each patty with a gooey slice of provolone, mozzarella, or fontina and let it melt into something truly crave-worthy.
Serve the whole thing over a pile of hot spaghetti and dinner just became the best part of everybody’s day.
Kitchen Tips
- Don’t press down on the patties while they cook. Let them develop a crusty sear on each side for more flavor.
- Fresh oregano makes a noticeable difference here, but dried works in a pinch. Use about a third of the amount.
- Shape the patties into ovals rather than rounds so they sit better on a bed of spaghetti.
- Use a jar sauce you actually love, since it does a lot of the heavy lifting in this dish.
