45 minSometimes dessert doesn’t need to be complicated. Four ingredients, one baking dish, and you’re done.
Peeled and cored apples get a coat of orange juice on the outside to keep them from drying out, then get stuffed with sweet raisins and a dusting of cinnamon.
They bake until fork-tender, filling the kitchen with that warm, spiced-fruit smell that makes everyone wander in asking what’s cooking.
Serve them warm for a cozy finish to dinner, or chill them for a grab-and-go snack. Either way, they’re low-fat, naturally sweet, and friendly to just about every dietary need.
Pro Tips
- Use firm baking apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp. Softer varieties can turn to mush in the oven.
- Leave the bottom intact when coring so the raisins stay inside.
