Start your morning with warm, cinnamon-scented apples that taste like fall in a bowl.

Bite-sized apple chunks and snipped dates get baked together in apple juice until just tender, filling the kitchen with the kind of smell that gets everyone out of bed without being asked.

A drizzle of melted raspberry fruit spread over the top adds a sweet-tart pop of color and flavor, and a sprinkle of crunchy granola gives it the texture contrast that takes this from fruit cup to proper breakfast.

Individual casserole dishes make this feel special without any extra effort. It’s like a deconstructed apple crumble that’s actually good for you.

Pro Tips

  • Use a firm, tart apple like Granny Smith or Braeburn. They hold their shape during baking instead of turning to mush.
  • Swap the raspberry spread for apricot or strawberry depending on what you have.
  • Add a dollop of Greek yogurt on top for extra protein to carry you through the morning.
