| 20 | slices | bread, white | thin |
| 4 | ounces | blue cheese | crumbled |
| 8 | ounces | cream cheese | softened |
| 1 | large | egg | lightly beaten |
| 20 | each | asparagus spears | canned, well drained |
| 1/2 | cup | butter | melted |
Remove the crusts from the bread. Flatten each slice with a rolling pin until thin.
Combine the cheeses in a bowl with a mixer. Add the egg and mix until well blended.
Spread the cheese mixture on each slice of bread.
Place one asparagus spear on each slice and roll up jelly-roll style.
Dip each piece in the melted butter, turning to coat.
Place seam side down on a cookie sheet and place in the freezer until just frozen.
Remove from freezer and slice each piece into small rounds.
Arrange on the cookie sheet and bake at 400F for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Serve hot.

This recipe has potential, however, it was too dry. Tomato sauce instead of paste would have worked out better!
