| 2/3 | cup | wheat germ | |
| 2 | teaspoons | baking powder | |
| 1 | teaspoon | cinnamon | ground |
| 1/4 | teaspoon | baking soda | |
| 1/4 | teaspoon | salt | |
| 1/4 | teaspoon | nutmeg | ground |
| 1/3 | cup | butter | or margarine, cold |
| 1 | large | apple | tart, peeled and chopped |
| 1/2 | cup | milk | |
| 1/4 | cup | honey | |
| Topping | |||
| 2 | teaspoons | wheat germ | |
| 2 | teaspoons | sugar | |
| 1/4 | teaspoon | cinnamon | ground |
In a large bowl, combine flour,wheat germ, baking powder, cinnamon, baking soda, salt and nutmeg.
Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Combine the apple, milk and honey; add to dry ingredients just until moistened.
Turn onto a floured surfac, knead gently 5-6 times.
Gently patt dough into a 9-in. circle, 1/2 in. thick. Combine topping ingredients; sprinkle over dough.
Cut into eight wedges and place on a greased baking sheet.
Bake at 400 degrees for 15-18 minutes.

General:Nutmeg is the seed of Myristica fragrans, an evergreen tree native to the Molucca Islands. Interestingly, the tree produces both Nutmeg and mace, and grows up to 60 feet tall....
took it to work and everyone loved it! so easy to make and very impressive to present! excellent!
