| 1 | cup | oats, quick cooking | |
| 1/2 | cup | all-bran cereal | |
| 1/3 | cup | whole wheat flour | |
| 1/3 | cup | brown sugar | packed |
| 1/4 | teaspoon | baking soda | |
| 1/2 | teaspoon | cinnamon | |
| 1/4 | teaspoon | nutmeg | |
| 1/4 | teaspoon | ginger | |
| 1/2 | cup | butter | or margarine |
| 1 | package | butterscotch pudding | 4 oz pkg |
| 1 1/4 | cups | milk | |
| 22 | ounces | apple pie filling | |
| 1 | teaspoon | lemon zest | finely shredded |
| 2 | tablespoons | lemon juice |
Mix oats, cereal, flour, sugar, soda and spices. Cut in butter or margarine until crumbly. Pat half the mixture into a 8x8x2 inch baking dish.
Bake in 350~ oven 10 minutes.
Prepare pudding mix according to package directions except use the 1 1/2 cups milk. Pour over crumb layer. Mix remaining ingredients; spoon over pudding. Top with remaining crumbs.
Bake, uncovered, in 350~ oven 30 to 35 minutes. Serve warm or cool with ice cream, if desired.

This is a very good recipe. I made them for my father and he said that the cookies tasted alot like the ones his grandmother made him as a boy.
