Ingredients

1 cup vegetable shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar firmly packed
1 each egg
2 cups flour, all-purpose
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 x sugar

Directions

Cream shortening; gradually add sugars, beating well at medium speed of an electric mixer.

Add egg, and beat well.

Combine flour, baking soda, and cream of tartar; gradually add dry ingredients to creamed mixture, mixing well.

Add vanilla, and mix well.

Shape dough into 1-inch balls; roll in powdered sugar.

Place on lightly greased cookie sheets.

Bake at 275 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.

Cool on wire rack.

Orange Zucchini Cake

There are a few problems with the instructions for this recipe. The instructions never tell you to add the spices (nutmeg and cinnamon) or the vanilla. I had mixed the batter and poured it into the pan when I realized I had not added those items.
