READY

Melt butter with brown sugar, bring it to a boil, then cool slightly before rapidly stirring in eggs so they don’t scramble.

Add vanilla, flour, and baking powder, spread into a greased pan, and shower the top with chopped almonds and chocolate chips.

Bake at 375 degrees for twenty minutes until golden and set.

The name comes from the toppings: A for almonds, B for butterscotch-flavored blond brownie base, C for chocolate chips.

Makes sixteen chewy, nutty squares.

Kitchen Tips

  • Cool brown sugar mixture 5-10 minutes before adding eggs to prevent cooking them
  • Stir eggs in rapidly once mixture has cooled for proper incorporation
