| 4 | cups | flour, all-purpose | |
| 1 | cup | brown sugar | light, packed |
| 1 | pound | butter | unsalted, softened |
1. Heat oven to 325 degrees F. Beat all ingredients in large bowl of electric mixer on medium-high speed until smooth, about 4 minutes.
2. Divide dough into 4 pieces. Roll out 1 piece of dough at a time on lightly floured surface to 1/16 to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut out dough with cookie cutters.
3. Bake cookies on ungreased baking sheet until pale brown and slightly firm to the touch, 8 to 10 minutes. Remove to cooling rack.
Decorate as desired.
The cookies weren't very good, they tasted rather bland. I think they need more sugar or some icing made from powdered sugar and milk - not the store bought kind.

Even though its one of the most celebrated holidays of the year, Valentine’s Day is starting to lose fans like an untalented American Idol contestant. ...
I made this recipe into buns instead of baking in another dish. They turned out awesome, lots of onion flavor and a bit of crunchiness from the walnuts. See the photo of the buns just before I took them out of the oven.
