Cheesy Italian Basil Tomato Pesto Pizza

For those who want to eat their way through Italy, perhaps a visit to Mario Batali's new restaurant, Eataly, will do in a pinch. The idea was conceived by Italian entrepreneur Oscar Farinetti, who opened the first Eataly in Turin, and helped to bring the concept stateside along with Batali and three other investors including host of Masterchef USA on Fox, Joe Bastianich.

Eataly, which is right across from New York's Madison Square Park, is already filled with curious customers who are lured in by the promise of fine Italian food and products. Since opening, the establishment has gotten between eight thousand and twelve thousand visitors per day!

A variety of delicious foods are served, from handmade pizzas to Italian pastries to delicious sandwiches and much more. Eataly also sells a wide variety of quality Italian ingredients, and even has a butcher and baker on-site.

For the cooking enthusiast, it might be obvious what to do with these many ingredients, but for the novice chef, or even someone who is a bit more experienced, there is also a cooking school within Eataly.

Even if you can't make it to New York to visit Eataly, there are many delicious Italian recipes that can be recreated in your home kitchen. With the right ingredients and a little effort, you can create a delicious Italian meal of your own.
