About me

I have been cooking for more than 60 years.  Recipes are guidelines only and are often the base for some new and exciting dish.

Having cooked for a family with different tastes and diet requirements, I often juggled spices, ingredients and even cooking times to get the desired results.

I love to cook for people who like to eat.  Most of my recipes are in my head and I make adjustments based on the availability  of  the ingredients.

I have been retired for 14 years and I like to cook from scratch as much as possible.

Most of my cooking was done for 8 to 10 people, so my recipes are difficult to pare down to cooking for two.  As a result, most of my cooking gets packed into the freezer for another day.

Not everything is better frozen, so Bisquick is used to make those items, that I prefer to have fresh.  Like Dumplings and Tea Biscuits.

 

Cooking Interests

It depends on who you talk to about my cooking.  One nephew would say it's the rice pudding.  A friend would probably say "lasagna".  I myself like Chili.

I like to cook just about anything, but a good old fashioned "Jig's Dinner with dough boys and pease pudding"  is probably one of my favorites.

Style -  Home cooking.
