Recipes & Other Goodies!

About me

I was one of 8 children & mother of 3 daughters.I have collected recipes & recipe books for many years and have quite a collection. My passions are my family, planning Nana camp for my grandchildren during the summer; scavenger hunts, bird watching, crafting, journal keeping, baking & much more.

Cooking Interests

I'm the oldest girl of 8 children and learned to cook by being in the kitchen with my mother at a young age. Because of the size of our family she always prepared foods that you would find on a southern table. But, after marrying & traveling all over the world with my husband, who had his own plane, I learned there was a whole new world of different kinds of food, and I wanted to learn to prepare some of those foods. I learned on my own by reading. My brother was stationed in Japan and I surprised him when he came home on leave, with a wonderful dish Chow Mein. I was so proud of myself... added the best meat I could think of which was Spam... yes, I said Spam! After years of being teased I now use the best tenderloin beef in this old favorite.

I have several recipes my family loved; Beef Stoganof, chili without beans, Chow Mein, Lasagne, which is the best they say, Bavarian Beef Casserole, New York style cheesecake, cherry crunch & so much more! I love Japanese, Chinese, Italan and a few others.

My favorite restaurant is called 'HOME'.

Simple diet is best--for many dishes bring many diseases; and rich sauces are worse than even heaping several meats upon each other.
