Christmas - A List Of Resolutions That Can Be Kept As The Year Goes On

Eat larger portions of fruits and vegetables. These are generally low in fat, fill you up easily, and make very healthy snacks if you get hungry between meals.

Examples of a portion of a fruit or vegetable can be: one apple, orange, banana or pear, a carrot or stalk of celery, a dessert bowl of salad or a handful of berries.

Choose leaner cuts of meat and try not to eat the fat. Avoid eating the skin on chicken, because it’s always high in fat, even if the meat is lean.

Choose skimmed or partly-skimmed milk and low-fat yoghurts rather than full-fat versions.

Try and cut down on your sugar in-take. Cutting sugar out of your diet can be extremely hard. The important thing to know is that you don’t need to cut out the sugar found in regular foods.

Instead, you should tray away from carbonated drinks, sugary breakfast cereals, granola bars, tinned pasta and baked beans.

Cut down on your salt in-take. Lots of salt can be bad for you because having too much sodium can raise your blood pressure. Extra salt can come from breakfast cereals, some types of bread, sauces, tinned vegetables and soup.

Make sure you eat breakfast! Not only is it a worthwhile resolution but you’re also able to get vitamins and minerals to help you start your day. Some people skip breakfast because they think they’ll lose weight by missing meals.

This is not true because you need vitamins and minerals in you to start the day. Research also shows that eating breakfast can help you maintain a healthy body weight.

Save money. Instead of buying lunch at work or at school, bring a packed lunch. This resolution may require some organization skills, but it’s worth it in the long run. Not only are packed lunches healthier for you, but you also have more control of what you eat!

New Year’s resolutions don’t have to be major promises like going on a specific type of diet. All you need to do is pick something you can handle and stick to it.

Whether it’s cutting down on how much sugar is in your diet or eating more fruits and vegetables. The main thing is that you abide by your promise, because who knows, maybe next year you won’t need to make resolution!
